Absolent Case Study Two
Coolant and Oil Mist Collectors

.

A medium sized fastener manufacturing company was having severe air quality problems from piston style cold heading equipment.

The oil mist and smoke level in the plant was routinely measured at 20 mg/m3, or four times the OSHA limit.

The company had tried a number of solutions, including electrostatic precipitators; media style collectors and direct ventilation. None of these methods were successful.

Due to numerous employee complaints about the mist and smoke, the customer installed an Absolent ODR 2000 and an ODR 3000 on several of the plants cold headers.

After installing the Absolent units, the indoor air quality in the plant substantially improved.

The measured mist and smoke level entering the ODR 200 was 48.7 mg/m3 and 0.033mg/m3 after, a reduction of 99.9%.
